Chicago Triathlon Training

Long - 18-week program starting April 24th

Our professional coaches have years of experience coaching athletes of all fitness levels to help them reach their goals. Our coaches are teachers, motivators, organizers, psychologists, and race strategists. They will help you overcome your fears, break through fitness plateaus, and achieve your peak performance on race day.

Our training facility is a World Class triathlon-focused boutique gym that was voted the best training facility in Chicago's magazine's Best Of issue. Training with Well-Fit, the athlete has access to high tech, professional-level training equipment, such as our Computrainers, fully-functional weight training room, Endless Pool, and expert-level coaches and trainers.

Our training program is proven to get results. First, we focus on developing fundamental skills and improving technique. As your technique improves, we start to build race-specific fitness. We don't treat triathlons as a one-time challenge, but rather as a part of an ongoing healthy lifestyle.

Our program is designed to take an individual sport, like triathlons, and make it a team sport. We keep the program limited to 25 athletes so the coaches will get to know all of the athletes and give them personal attention. More importantly, the athletes will get to know each other. In practice, like-minded participants will motivate and push each other to overcome challenges. Friendships will develop, and you will find training partners to meet up with for your non-coached workouts.

How does the program work?

This training program meets three times weekly. Under the guidance of an experienced coach, athletes will train to improve their technique and build their endurance as they prepare for their target race. Training will cover all facets of a triathlon, including swimming, cycling, running, transition, open water swimming, pacing, and nutrition.

Athletes are expected to train even on the days that the group does not meet. Particpants will receive a detailed online training plan so they will know what to do on the days when the training group does not meet.

On race day, the Well-Fit coaches will provide a team tent at the start and finish areas of the Chicago Triathlon. Amenities include a post-race massage, drinks, food, and good times. 

This long program is ideal for athletes who want to get an early start to the season and do sprint/Olympic races such as Esprit de She, Leon's, Big Foot, Pleasant Prairie, and then continue to train throughout the summer and do the Chicago Triathlon. The short program is ideal for someone who wants a shorter, 12-week program designed to get them ready for the Chicago Triathlon.

** Class cost will be refunded 50% if canceled no later than 2 weeks prior to the start date. After 2 weeks there will be NO REFUNDS. Injuries will be dealt with on a case to case basis.
