4Bree Deters’ passion for swimming began at an early age in Southern California. She started swimming year-round at age 7. By age 13, began competing at National-level swim meets and was frequently chosen to represent her region at All-Star meets. At Laguna Hills High School, she was a NISCA All-American and team captain her junior and senior years.
She continued her swimming career representing the University of Southern California under coach Mark Schubert where she was a 2-time Academic All-American. Bree graduated from USC with a B.S. in Kinesiology (senior thesis in swimming biomechanics), completed the MBA program at DePaul University.
She got into triathlon in 2011 and she completed her first half Ironman that year thanks to the training program at Well-Fit. She also completed her first full Ironman in 2014. She has almost a decade of experience coaching and mentoring swimmers of all ages and skill levels and occasionally competes in USMS swim meets, open water races, and triathlons.
