Ted’s attention to detail and thoughtful training programs prepare athletes with strategies for successful races

Coach Ted is a certified Level 1 USA Triathlon Coach, a Level 2 USA Cycling coach as well as Youth and Junior Certified with USAT. He has experience working with all types of athletes, men and women from youth level to senior citizens and everything in between, coaching athletes in triathlon, swimming, running and cycling.

Ted began his coaching career when he coached the Oak Park Masters swim team for 3 years. He started coaching triathlon when he coached a youth clinic at USAT Junior Nationals. After that he joined Well-Fit and has coached many individual athletes as well as many classes including various sprint, Olympic and 1/2 Iron Man triathlon classes and a cyclocross bike class.

His strengths include providing a detailed training plan that will prepare his athlete’s for the conditions the will face on race day, providing positive reinforcement to his athletes, giving thoughtful answers to their questions, and preparing athletes with strategies for a successful race day.

Athletically, Ted’s passions fall on the off road side of endurance sports. A seven time Xterra Midwest Champion, he qualified and competed in the Xterra National Championship and Xterra World Championship the past year. In cycling, Ted is a category 1 cyclocross and mountain bike racer and a category 3 road racer. Ted has raced in the past as a member of the Well-Fit Elite triathlon team in 2010-2011 and Iron Cycles cycling team.
