This program will redefine your cycling ability.
Introducing Iron-Fit Cycling. The program designed for the athlete looking to set a new personal best at their next Olympic distance race or prepare for a grueling Ironman/Half Ironman bike course. Iron-Fit Cycling I and II will progress your cycling ability over the fall and winter season by working on improving your pedal stroke efficiency, cycling mechanics, power production ability and overall cycling fitness.
Any athlete who wants a to become a strong cyclist will benefit from this program. Each class of this two-step program will last 8 weeks and will have a specific focus. Athletes can take an 8-week session individually or in succession. The athlete will see an increase in their threshold power over the course of any 8-week program, but to maximize their off season cycling training, they will see the most improvement from taking the two programs in succession. Iron-Fit will meet twice a week and will combine cycling, altitude and strength training to mold a more powerful athlete. With Well-Fit’s renovated cycling room, altitude training room and real-time cycling efficiency feedback, you are guaranteed dramatic improvement in your performance.
Iron-Fit Cycling I – Fundamentals and Technique. This class will go beyond general base building and will teach you how to correctly sit on your bike, proper pedaling mechanics, how to improve your cadence, how to breathe properly, proper pacing as well as assessing weaknesses in strength and flexibility.
Iron-Fit Cycling II – Strength and Climbing. This class will teach the fundamentals of climbing form and how to add power to your stroke. This class will work on improving the athlete’s ability to apply force to the pedals. Climbing simulations and vigorous intervals will be the focus of the workouts.
