Has your Half Ironman been postponed?  Well-Fit’s got you covered with our Summer & Fall 70.3 virtual group training programs, designed for athletes looking to compete anytime of the year!

PICK YOUR RACE, PICK YOUR START TIME!

You choose how many weeks you will train to prepare for your race.  Well-Fit will provide you with world-class virtual coaching to get you ready, all for only $20/week.

Participants are strongly encouraged to switch to in-person training at Well-Fit as soon as the Safe Shelter policy is lifted.*

  • Musselman – July 19th
  • Ohio – July 26th
  • Chattanooga – August 23rd
  • Traverse City & Maine – August 30th
  • Coeur D’Alene – September 6th
  • Lake Placid & Santa Cruz & Atlantic City – September 13th
  • Maple Valley, WA – September 20th
  • Cozumel & Augusta – September 27th
  • Des Moines – October 4th
  • Arizona & Waco – October 18

NOTE:  To train virtually, the athlete should have the following suggested equipment:

  • A trainer
  • Speed and cadence sensor (optional)
  • A training app
  • Stretch bands for swimming
  • Resistance bands for hip exercises

This program has been designed by Sharone Aharon, USAT Level III coach, to meet the training requirements of athletes at any ability level.

This training group is for you whether you are:

  • an individual focused on improving your form and technique to finish the race strong
  • a beginner or an intermediate athlete with some multisport experience, prepared to take your race day performance to the next level
  • an athlete with a long-term goal of completing a full Ironman

All participants receive an online training program, which details exactly what to do each day to reach your specific race day goal.  Participants will train with like-minded athletes guided closely by Well-Fit’s USA Triathlon-certified coaches who will not only share knowledge but provide additional motivation.

*For those opting to switch to in-person training (once the stay at home orders are lifted and our access to pools or the lake re-opens), we anticipate leading three classes each week at the world-class Well-Fit Training Center, the Whitney Young Pool, the UIC Physical Education Building Pool, the Lakeshore track and Ohio Street Beach.  The program includes a fully-supported 56-mile group ride.

The program will be led by Coach Ted Ramos, who has years of experience helping athletes accomplish their goals at the half-Ironman distance. He will be assisted by other Well-Fit coaches and Elite Team athletes.

In-Person Program

DATES/TIMES/LOCATIONS SUBJECT TO CHANGE – Below is an example of what the in-person schedule could look like based on previous years

Swim: Wednesdays at 6:00AM at the UIC West Campus Rec Center or Tuesdays at 8PM at the UIC Big Pool

Bike: Thursdays at 5:40AM or Thursdays at 7:30PM at Well-Fit Training Center

Run:  Wednesdays at 6:30PM at Lake Shore Park track – 808 N. Lake Shore Dr.

Cost

Virtual Training:  You choose how many weeks you will train to prepare for your race.  Well-Fit will provide you with world-class virtual coaching to get you ready, all for only $20/week.

* In-person Option:  Participants are strongly encouraged to switch to in-person training at Well-Fit as soon as the Safe Shelter policy is lifted.  In-person, on-site training at Well-Fit pricing for the remainder of the program:

  • Well-Fit Members:  +$10/week for the remaining number of weeks in your program
  • CTC Members:  +$15/week for the remaining number of weeks in your program
  • Non Members:  +$20/week for the remaining number of weeks in your program

Payment/Refund Policy: Because the coach provides a full program for the duration of your training, full payment is due upon program start date.  No refunds will be given.
