Ironman Training

The Ironman group training program is designed for those looking to participate in Ironman Wisconsin, Ironman Lake Placid, Ironman Canada, Ironman Maryland, Ironman Louisville,  Ironman Chattanooga or any other summer Ironman. 

The Well-Fit Ironman Wisconsin* training program in Chicago is designed to provide comprehensive training and support to successfully help you complete an Ironman. Since 2009, we’ve helped hundreds of athletes hear those three little words “You are an Ironman.” Each year, our group consists of beginners (even those who have never done a triathlon!), as well as those who have already completed an Ironman. Our program includes weekly coached sessions to provide you with periodic training and technical feedback as well as triathlon-related education to improve yourself as an athlete.

We coach to the whole athlete. Completing an Ironman is more than just doing the training – it’s doing the right training at the right time in addition to integrating proper nutrition, recovery, and mindset. With 17 athletes per class, participants find training partners at similar speeds in the swim, bike, and run. No matter where you are in your journey as an athlete or what pace you go, you will find a welcoming place in our group and detailed education, guidance, and support from our coaches.

*This training plan is primarily for Ironman Wisconsin, but can also be adapted to another Iron distance race in the same, general time frame, such as Maryland, Chattanooga, Louisville and others — just ask the coaches for details.


  • 31 weeks of an organized training plan with detailed daily workouts
  • Coaching support led by three exceptional USAT level I and II certified coaches with over 50 years of combined coaching and racing experience including the Ironman World Championship in Kona
  • Coached group training — 3 times per week

Run:  Beginning May 1 – Wednesdays at 6:30PM at Lake Shore Park track – 808 N. Lake Shore Dr.

Swim: Choice of Tuesday/Thursday 8pm (with a morning option beginning in May)

**Class cost will be refunded 50% if cancelled no later than 2 weeks prior to the start date. After 2 weeks there will be NO REFUNDS. Injuries will be dealt with on a case to case basis**
